Procedures
of Public Notice Publication in the Government
of The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

Application
for publication can be made on application form
GLD
18*
obtainable from the Printing Division, Government
Logistics Department or downloadable from the
website (http://www.gld.gov.hk). Company letter
with letterhead is also acceptable if all the
information required in form GLD
18*
is given. For a notice placed under the Trade
Marks Ordinance, the original copy of form IP
185 issued by the Intellectual Property Department
must be attached.
Copy for publication must be edited and in its final form on submission.
The application submitted must be clearly marked ‘GAZETTE DRAFT’ on the outside of the
envelope addressed to the Printing Division, Government Logistics Department at Cornwall
House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong or submitted to the Collection
Office at Accounts Section, Government Logistics Department, 10/F, North Point Government
Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong before the closing date and time stipulated
in the ‘NOTICE TO ADVERTISERS’ in Supplement No. 6 to the Government of the Hong Kong
Special Administrative Region Gazette. If copy was typeset by computer, please attach with
the electronic file or send by email to pd-gazette@gld.gov.hk.
The
Director of Government Logistics will typeset
the notice according to the house style of the
Department and prepare a proof for checking by
the applicant. The proof faxed to the applicant
will be for proofreading. The applicant should
check the proof carefully, sign the proof slip
(GLD(PD) 66A) for approval, and return them with the
necessary fee by cheque or cash before the specified
deadline.
Applicants
who do not receive notification from this Department
by noon four days before the expected publishing
date can contact the Department at 2564 9570.
Any
proof not returned before the deadline specified
on the proof slip will be treated as withdrawal
but the applicant will still have to pay for the
full cost involved.
Payment
made to this Department does not include any fee
charged by other government departments such as
the Intellectual Property Department or the Companies
Registry.

Notice
to Advertisers
Copy of public notices must
reach the office of the Printing Division, Government
Logistics Department not later than 4.00 p.m.
on Monday for insertion in the same week¡¦s
Gazette. If Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
or Friday is a general holiday, such copy must
reach to this Department not later than 4.00 p.m.
on Friday of the preceding week.
For
general holidays over two consecutive days, the
closing date will be published in Supplement No.
6 to the Government of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region Gazette three weeks
prior to the holidays.
Any
notice withdrawn after typesetting must be paid
for at the full amount chargeable
irrespective of the reason for withdrawal. If
more than one copy of a notice is sent to this
Department for typesetting, each one will be treated
as a separate application and the full amount
chargeable must be paid whether or not such a
notice is to be published. Only one proof will
be supplied for proofreading.
The Director of Government Logistics
shall not be bound by any notice of cancellation
of publication unless a written notice of withdrawal
is received by this Department before 12.00 noon
on the day immediately following the closing date
of application.
Photographs
and line drawings on plain paper for designs and
trade marks supplied
by applicants for printing of notices must be
furnished upon the time of submission. The Director
of Government Logistics reserves the right to
reject notices which do not conform to these requirements.
Photographs and line drawings should be collected
by the applicants within one month from the date
of publication, otherwise they will be disposed.
The Director of Government Logistics
reserves the right to reject notices which are
considered not suitable for publication.

Single
column Width 6 cm $182
Double
column Width 12.5 cm $364
Measurement
of the depth of the notice will include standard
head and foot margins. Fractions of 1 cm will
be charged as 1 cm.
Payment
must be made in advance to the Collection Office
at Accounts Section, Government Logistics Department
at 10/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java
Road, North Point, Hong Kong. Shroffing hours
for Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 1 pm, 2 pm to
5 pm. Cheques, drafts and cashier orders should
be made payable to "The Government of the Hong
Kong Special Administrative Region" or "The Government
of the HKSAR" and crossed. They must not be made
payable to any individual officer. Payment is
valid only after the cheque is cleared. |
